Several players from the big three will enter in to the final year of their contracts and Soccer Laduma takes a look at 10 of them.
Kaizer Chiefs announced contract extensions for three of their first team players this week. Siphelele Ntshangase, Philani Zulu and Brylon Petersen all put pen to paper on extended one-year deals at Naturena.
Both Ntshangase and Zulu’s futures at the Soweto giants were up in the air for quite a while before Amakhosi’s announcement, as their contracts were set to come to an end yesterday, June 30.
Now, the duo joins a long list of players from Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates who have one more year left to run on their current contracts.
However, some of these players also have added one-year options set in place on their deals which needs to be exercised by the club, should they want to hold on to their services beyond 2021.
At Sundowns, Themba Zwane enters the final year of his contract, and as previously revealed by the Siya crew, the Brazilians were looking to secure the player’s services on a new two-year deal.
Meanwhile at Pirates, Xola Mlambo also now has one more year left to run on his contract. The Siya crew reported earlier in June that Sundowns are keeping a close eye on the out-of-favour midfielder.
