In a bizarre twist to the on-going NFD play-off saga, Soccer-Laduma has learnt that even if today’s match between Chippa United and Santos does take place, there is a possibility that the result may not count.
Thanda Royal Zulu chairman Pierre Delvaux has dropped a bomb shell by admitting he’s totally perplexed at what’s happening.
“It’s crazy, the most preposterous thing might happen,” he says. “The PSL are saying ‘go ahead with the play-offs even at the risk of the results not counting until Thanda exhausts its legal process.
“I’ve never heard of this in the world, it’s a waste of money and misleading everybody. The public and players don’t know if it’ll count or not, and if Thanda is right and the league wrong then - we got to do it all over again!
“All I’m asking is a fair right of appeal, the arbitrator allowed me to go on revue. I’m just doing what he said, asking for an interdict to determine if I’m wrong or right but don’t understand why the PSL is fighting vehemently. We’ll hear the judgement later today.”
