Patrick Kaunda, the Zimbabwean striker, who topped the scoring charts in Botswana’s Premier League this past season, is set to join Platinum Stars.
Kaunda scored 20 goals in the 2013/2014 season for FC Satmos in Botswana to win the Green Boot award for the season.
Stars coach Allan Freese, while agreeing that they are about to sign a player, didn't want to go into details.
He said he would tell the Siya crew when the time is good to do so.
"Yes it's true we want to sign a player, but I can't tell you now who that player is until the whole deal is finalised," Freese told the Siya crew.
“I don't want to say a lot before we close the deal. But as soon as it is done you will be first one to know. I am being honest with you.”
Kaunda could become the fourth player to join Dikwena from the Botswana Premier League in the past four seasons, following Mogakolodi Ngele, Kabelo Dambe and Terrence Mandaza.
