With Swallows FC confirming the club had sacked coach Brandon Truter and his entire technical team, there have been questions raised over who would take charge this weekend in the event a new appointment is delayed.
The Dube Birds chairman David Mogashoa issued a statement late on Sunday night after their 3-1 drubbing at the hands of Kaizer Chiefs in the DStv Premiership explaining why the “drastic” decision had been taken!
Now, it’s an open secret that Swallows are in the hunt for a new coach and Mogashoa did admit they were in a race against time to get a replacement in before hosting Maritzburg United on Saturday at the Dobsonville Stadium.

“But should that not happen or we face work permit issue if the coach is from outside the country, then Fani Madida will sit on the bench,” the chairman told Soccer Laduma.
“He has been there in the structures and we have asked him to assist with the fitness of the players while we await the confirmation of our new coach. But he is not the coach…the PSL manual insists that we need to have someone to do the interviews after the game and should we not have a coach ready by Saturday, then Fani will conduct the interviews.”
Mogashoa is so far playing his cards close to his chest and would not even give a hint as to who would potentially take over at Swallows.
The Siya crew will keep digging!
But recently, when Truter faced a barrage of criticism, the likes of Dan Malesela, Gordon Igesund, Dylan Kerr and Owen da Gama were linked with the club as possible replacements and could be in the running yet again.
Malesela, however, has since been appointed at Marumo Gallants.
