Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane was delighted to pick up three points, despite his side not performing at their best against Polokwane City.
Ricardo Nascimento and new signing Lebohang Maboe were on target to lead the Brazilians to a 2-0 win over Rise and Shine.
Mosimane, however, admitted that their game wasn't as free-flowing as he would have liked but was content with the result.
“We were coming and going. We didn’t have a free flow as usual but sometimes it’s okay to have the three points and not have the free flow. Hopefully on Saturday we can have a free flow match. What’s important is to win the match,” the former Bafana Bafana coach told SuperSport TV after the match.
“We did well. The three man midfield helped us. “Mshishi [Themba Zwane, Ace [Oupa Manyisa and [Tiyani] Mabunda. Not so much of a great game but we must also give credit to the guys [Polokwane City] they were threatening especially in the last ten minutes of the first half. We’re happy, [to get] three points.
“Game management was important, these kind of games when you’re 2-0 up you don’t have to look like you want to play you just wait for your chance. Last year here we got zero points, against Chiefs [last season] we lost our home game so it’s progress,” concluded the outspoken Sundowns coach.
