Following their 2-1 Nedbank Cup quarter final defeat this past Saturday night against Orlando Pirates at Loftus Stadium, Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane, condemned a certain Pirates player for a lack of professionalism and integrity during his post-match interview.
Mosimane who refused to name the player by name expressed his annoyance at the player’s antics on the field.
“Sometimes you don’t want to comment because when you lose, it will be like sour grapes, but there were players who’s feet were not on the pitch tonight, and a certain player who was on the floor every minute, what is this? and next thing he shoots the ball it’s a goal!”, bemoaned Pitso.
“Let’s have professionalism.” We lost not because of anything, I’m not talking about that, but integrity is very important”, continued the Sundowns coach.
When questioned about the officiating during the match, Pitso again refused to comment, instead he alluded to his previous summons by the Disciplinary Commission for comments made regarding match officials.
Though Pitso wouldn’t name the player, it was pretty clear that he was referring to Orlando Pirates winger, Daine Klate, who was fouled and scored a goal from the resulting free kick.
“Other players were playing well, Oupa Manyisa and Thandani Ntshumayelo these boys are strong. This is a man’s game. This player needs to get off the floor and play football!”
