Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Pitso Mosimane, said that his side is still recovering from a shock and are not as confident after being eliminated from the CAF Champions League competition.
Sundowns returned to domestic action last weekend Sunday, October 01, this after their exit in the quarter-final stages of the CAF Champions League.
The Brazilians salvaged a 1-0 Absa Premiership win over Platinum Stars at the weekend, however, speaking to Sundowns’ official website, Mosimane says that his side was just about holding on to the result after Khama Billiat was able to give the Chloorkop-based club the early lead.
“I was happy to see Khama back, he was injured. It’s good for him to come back and score. Unfortunately for Percy Tau, his goal was disallowed. I don’t know what happened. I am not in a position to comment on that. I don’t know,” Mosimane said.
“But, all in all, you could see that we are coming from a shock. We aren’t really confident. We tried to keep the result more than to go forward. We were in control of the game. For us, it was about the three points. We wish we could play again quickly because we had just won. But there is a FIFA break that we have to respect. It will give us time to get Khama, Soumahoro Bangaly, Anthony Laffor, Leonardo Castro and Yanick Zakri fit and give Anele Ngcongca and Asavela Mbekile a chance to be match fit,” he added.
