Pitso: We Paid School Fees v Barca
Pitso Mosimane Thinks Mamelodi Sundowns Were Taught A Lesson By Barcelona
Pitso Mosimane felt that Mamelodi Sundowns were taught a lesson at FNB Stadium last night as they were beaten 3-1 by Barcelona.
The Catalans landed in South Africa on Wednesday morning, played at 18h15 and went straight to the airport after the game, but managed to put Masandawana to the sword thanks to goals from Ousmane Dembele, Luis Suarez and Andre Gomes.
Mosimane and his troops will now turn their heads to the CAF Champions League as they look to pick up points in the groups having recently clinched the Absa Premiership title, and the coach believes that they can learn a lot from their defeat in Soweto.
Speaking to the media after the game, ‘Jingles’ said, “The differences between the Rand and the Euro… I thought when the first goal went in in the first minute, I wondered how many goals were coming. We paid school fees tonight, I think we saw that.
“Bangaly (Soumahoro) made the biggest mistake, he gave the ball to Dembele, they scored. KK (Hlompho Kekana) gave the ball to the striker, they scored. The other goal was Barca, the way Barca plays, that’s the school fees we paid, and it made a huge difference in terms of the result.”
Sundowns’ next game is on May 22nd when they face Horoya in the CCL.
