Pitso Mosimane pointed out that Phakamani Mahlambi is still raw with regards to playing football the Mamelodi Sundowns way.
The Brazilians settled for a point in last night’s Absa Premiership encounter against Bidvest Wits after going down to 10 men before the second half.
Mahlambi put Sundowns in the lead during the encounter as he celebrated against his former side, Wits.
However, speaking to the media, Mosimane admitted that Mahlambi is still being coached as to how to play the Brazilians’ style of football.
“Phaka, I have a lot of work to do with Phaka, ey, he’s raw, raw, raw hey, we are starting to coach him how to play football at the club,” Mosimane told the media after the game.
“Of course he’s got the speed, he can shoot, he can score and we wanted the speed to use behind, same as them, they put Lakay, and Hotto to use the speed and they got what they wanted because he went behind Wayne (Arendse),” the Sundowns head coach went on to say.
“But what can you do, you’ve got to accept, I was telling Mosa on the other side – let Lakay have the ball in front of you, don’t fight with him to get behind in front because the boy is quick and that is what happened to Wayne. So, it is the way it is.”
“You saw what happened tonight, this is Champions League team, five years Champions League, we know this - just manage the game, go with it, because we are one short and we know that they play on crosses,” he added.
