Pitso Reveals That Sundowns Are Behind Schedule
Pitso Mosimane Says Mamelodi Sundowns Are Behind Schedule
Mamelodi Sundowns may be sitting pretty, with four points clear at the top of the Absa Premiership, but Pitso Mosimane says that they’re behind schedule this season.
Masandawana take on Free State Stars tomorrow night as they look to restore their seven-point lead over Kaizer Chiefs, and their head coach hopes to see them get back on track having seemingly slipped away from their intended points tally.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Mosimane explained that his side is five points away from where they wanted to be at this stage of the season, and admitted that they don’t know how many points will be enough to clinch the Absa Premiership title.
He said, “At the moment we are five points behind our schedule at Sundowns. So hopefully we’ll get three at the weekend. We have our programme – the players can tell you about it – and we’re a little bit behind to what we think is right for us. Even if we don’t get what we think is right for us, I don’t know what will be enough to win the league.
“We can speak about figures and how many points will win the league, but you need to know how many points you will need yourselves.“
Sundowns have exactly the same amount of points after 20 games this year as they did at this stage last season but now find themselves in the driving seat having trailed Bidvest Wits in their previous campaign.
