Pitso: Key Players Were Not Up To It
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Pitso Mosimane, says two or three of his most important players were not at their best against Bidvest Wits.
A fine solo strike from Sibusiso Vilakazi ended Sundowns' 15-game unbeaten run in the league but Mosimane admitted that it just wasn't their night.
"It was a very difficult game for us, very awkward game, we came in patches," he said after the game.
"We didn't have so many chances but I thought Malajila would sneak it in there, I think he wanted to dribble the goalkeeper. And this one at the end, where it hits the post like this, you know it's not your day. They fought hard, they won the game and congratulations to them.
"We looked threatening when we went upfront but it was not consistent, about two or three players of mine were not up to it, very important players, and when those influential players were not up to it tonight, I think you know the names, in terms of the ball not falling for them.
"You have to understand, that it's part of the game."
