Mosimane Backs Mzansi Keeper To Win FIFA Award
Pitso Mosimane Hopes Oscarine Masuluke Wins Puskas Award
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Pitso Mosimane, says that he hopes Oscarine Masuluke will walk away with the FIFA Puskas Award after Hlompho Kekana fell short last year.
Kekana received a nomination for the FIFA Puskas Award last year, in November, for his stellar goal for Bafana Bafana in an Africa Cup Of Nations qualifying encounter against Cameroon.
Now, yet another South African has been nominated for the prestigious award, with Baroka FC’s Masuluke up for the accolade after his incredible bicycle goal against Orlando Pirates in the Absa Premiership last season.
Speaking to Sundowns’ official website, Coach Mosimane shared some words on the 24-year-old goalkeeper.
“I wish Oscarine Masuluke all the best in the Puskas awards. (Hlompho) Kekana didn’t win it last year. We hope that he wins it,” Mosimane said.
Masuluke has been nominated alongside some of world footballs biggest names, including Olivier Giroud, Nemanja Matic and Mario Mandzukic.
