Pitso: Our Boys Playing For Chiefs, We Know Their Movements

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Pitso Mosimane commented on the performances of his side on Saturday, while adding that Masandawana were aware of the threat that Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro could impose on the day.

Sundowns lifted their inaugural Shell Helix Cup on Saturday, July 21, after defeating Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at the FNB Stadium.

Mosimane made a number of changes to his setup, giving the likes of new signings Lyle Lakay and Toni Silva a run on the day, while also introducing their academy product, Siphelele Mkhulise.

Speaking to Sundowns’ official website, Mosimane revealed that he was happy with his side on the day, as well as for Jeremy Brockie who scored his first goal in the Ka Bo Yellow colours.

“We made nine changes from the team that played in Togo. I was happy with Lyle. I converted him to a left back and he did well. We had only one training session with him but he is smart and knows how to adjust. I am happy with JB (Jeremy Brockie). He broke the ice with his goal. It’s been too long. I hope that now he has his tail up. I am very happy for him to score because I know that he is a goalscorer. Never mind that, he worked his socks off,” Mosimane said.

“But more importantly, our youngster who comes from our academy, Siphelele Mkhulise. He is a good boy, a good player. We brought him back from loan. He’s got nice touches. He played very well. It was a good outing. There was never really a threat for us. Our boys who are playing for Chiefs, we know their movement. This is just the beginning. This is a pre-season cup. We can’t be talking much about it,” he added.
