Pitso: If We Don’t Beat Wits…

“It doesn’t make a difference if we don’t win against Wits,” Head Coach Pitso Mosimane said ahead of his side’s clash against the Absa Premiership champions.

Mamelodi Sundowns will be hosting Bidvest Wits on Saturday and after Orlando Pirates’ result from their midweek encounter, Masandawana are not too much under pressure to secure all three points on the weekend.

“It doesn’t make a difference, you must try and win, if you can win, then you can say it gives you a relief,”Mosimane told the media.

The Sundowns head coach then went on to say that their clash against the Students will be the wrong encounter to look for ‘relief’ adding that Head Coach Gavin Hunt’s side does not enjoy losing to the Brazilians.

“But, unfortunately, this game, it’s a wrong game to look for relief against Wits, they are the champions, you know Gavin (Hunt) won't like to lose to us and the team itself won't like to lose to us,” he said.

Mosimane then went on to add that Saturday’s encounter may be similar to the clash between Pirates and SuperSport United in midweek where both sides shared the spoils after their 0-0 result.

“I think it is going to be a game like Pirates and SuperSport (United), you’re going to fight for your results (and) until then you will see if that was a chance or an advantage but as of now, it is on paper we still have to play. After the game then you can say, oh (yes), we now have a chance on paper. But the good thing, as much as we want to win, as much as Pirates wanted to win, even Kaitano felt that he is going to win the match, every coach thinks that he can win ay match, the only thing is that, probably, if you can win you can still get a point and then you are not rattled that much, and let the games get lesser,” Mosimane added.

The match is scheduled for Saturday at 15:00.
