Mosimane Explains Tactical Approach Against Chiefs: It Was To Show Respect

Pitso Mosimane Has Explained His Tactical Approach In Their Clash Against Kaizer Chiefs

By Soccer Laduma - Jan 29, 2018 11:09 AM

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Pitso Mosimane says that the way his side approached the game against Kaizer Chiefs was just to show respect to Amakhosi, while also strategising his title challenge.

The two giants played to a goalless draw at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, with Mosimane explaining why he chose not to go all out and attack for three points.

“For me, it is just to show respect and also, sometimes I look at Mayweather fighting and he doesn’t have to be going toe-to-toe with everybody but he retired undefeated,” Mosimane told the media at the post-match press conference.

“So, is he a good boxer? Tonight? We were there, just that we didn’t want to go to three centre backs when they had the ball, we had to keep Shaba busy.

“So, the year before last year when we won the league, we went to Cape Town, played Ajax, Ajax was all over us. We had Chiefs after Ajax I remember. Half-time I told the guys, you see this game if you want to look at Ajax and say you want to fight with them, they were a better team on the day, we took apart.

“After that, we beat Chiefs, we only had to beat Tuks and we beat Tuks and won the league. So, for me it is a good tactical move and good decision.”

Pitso, when are prepared to tell the truth?, all you say always seem to be a joke, you never accept defeat, you always think all is about you, please do unto others what you would like others do unto yourself. K4L.

The special one has spoken, we did not go all out because we knew their game plan. Only half brain chimpanzees cannot see that. Pitso is the best coach on the continent.

Yah well head coach I'm trying to comprehend your point of view, as far as I'm concerned but that was not figure of the game we were expecting with quality of players. I hope next time you'll make better use of your material either than showing respect

@dellah we understood English when Baxter spoke, look it up and listen again. He was referring to the boo-boys not all Chiefs supporters. We don't hate Pitso we hate Sundowns. In football coaches change teams all the time but teams remain. You hated Manyisa but now you love him to bits. Ask yourself why.

Both teams sat back waiting to play on breaks but none of them came onto the other. So it was more of a boring game if you ask me.

The same man who said "I want goals in this match" went on to apply a "respect tactic" respect tactic my foot you parked the bus mate, we don't hate Pitso is just that he has tendencies to say the most idiotic things that even my 8 year old son would not say.
