Pitso: I Was Coaching The Team, Not Rulani

Pitso Mosimane has cleared the air on rumours that Rulani Mokwena might have been the one who contributed more with his coaching in helping Mamelodi Sundowns win the trophies they won when he was still with the Chllorkop club, before his move to Orlando Pirates last year.

Former Sundowns midfielder, Bongani Zungu, made a startling revelation this week when he credited Mokwena for Pirates’ impressive form this season, while he also suggested that the assistant coach was behind the success of the Brazilians when he worked under Mosimane at the Chloorkop outfit.

While Zungu has since backtracked from his comments about Mokwena, and also apologised for what he said on Twitter, Mosimane has clarified the issue on who the real boss has always been at Downs, with regards to the technical team matters and coaching the side.

“Probably, it’s what you’re saying, probably it’s mind games. But I was coaching the team here not Rulani. I can put it straight,” Mosimane told the media.

The coach was speaking to the media this week as he and his team prepare for their upcoming Absa Premiership match, which will be against Pirates this weekend.

The Brazilians will host The Bucs at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday.
