Burkina Faso have reached the semi-final stage of the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 1998, when they hosted the tournament.
Tonight they take on Ghana at the Mbombela Stadium with the aim of reaching the final and going all the way in this year’s African footballing extravaganza.
Midfielder Jonathan Pitroipa admits that Ghana will be the odds-on favourites to progress to the final, however he believes that this will play into their hands.
“We are underdogs going into this game. That will help us play our normal game because everyone is expecting Ghana to win and not us. This will put pressure on Ghana and not us.
“But this game is like a final to both teams because both teams want to go through and play in the final. That makes this one a final on it's own. We have to win not just for us, but for our country,” Pitroipa.
