News reaching the Siya crew is that, Orlando Pirates could decide against signing Sporting Lisbon striker, James Owusu, because he hasn’t impressed the technical team yet.
As reported by the Siya crew, the 23-year-old striker started training with the Buccaneers last week after some delays caused by negotiations between Lisbon and his representative Ralph Nkomo, and also complications with his wife’s pregnancy back in Ghana.
Owusu played for Pirates in a practice match against Mozambican side, Costa do Sol at Rand Stadium last week.
But now sources at Pirates tell the Siya crew that the Ghanaian striker hasn’t live up to expectations during his trial there.
“The guy looks unfit and out of shape. Maybe it’s match fitness because we hear that he was not playing at Lisbon. But for now, I’m not convinced if Pirates will sign him,” said a source close to Pirates.
“I’m also not convinced yet if this guy is going to be signed by the club. He doesn’t look the part yet,” said another source.
