PSL duo, Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United, could battle it out for the signature of Ghanaian international goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda.
Soccer-Laduma revealed back in February that the shot-stopper could be tempted by a move to the PSL, with Ajax Cape Town, Wits and Golden Arrows all interested at the time.
However, it has since been reported that the Buccaneers, who are searching for a replacement for the departing Moeneeb Josephs, are leading the race to sign the 28-year-old Ashanti Gold ‘keeper and could well complete a deal for him this week.
Meanwhile, it is believed that Matsatsantsa have also contacted his club in Ghana as they too look to land the shot-stopper ahead of next season’s campaign.
While it is still thought that Pirates are favourites to secure the services of the goalkeeper, SuperSport may well attempt to hijack the deal.
Dauda, who impressed during the recent African Cup of Nations in South Africa, has spent five years with Ashanti and there are indications that they will not stand in his way should they receive the right fee for him.
