Mbele:Pirates Sign Players We Need
Pirates Floyd Mbele speaks on outlook for 2018
Orlando Pirates' Floyd Mbele has provided Soccer Laduma with the club's outlook for 2018. The top administrative officer told the Siya crew that Pirates will use the January and subsequent transfer windows to sign players they need, who will help achieve the objectives of the club.
"What always remains important for us is to sign the players we need as opposed to signing players who just available," Floyd told Soccer Laduma. "In 2018 we want to ensure that we win as many games as we can and make sure that our goal scoring is more aggressive," he added.
Soccer Laduma reported last week that Pirates had submitted a formal bid for SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie, this after they lost out on Leonardo Castro to rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
"The signings we make are guided by the technical report we receive so we know exactly what kind of player to look for and try and bring to the team. 2018 will be an important year for the club because if you realize we have used the majority of 2017 to lay certain foundations like bringing certain players and establishing a new technical team," he added.
"Hopefully all this will come together in 2018," concluded the Bucs man. Pirates in the meantime have announced the signings of Diamond Thopola and Phetso Maphanga.
