Pirates Defender Recovering After Hospital Visit

Orlando Pirates defender Marc Van Heerden has returned home after spending 11 days in hospital.

Van Heerden has only made three appearances for the Buccaneers and last featured in the side's 0-0 draw with Golden Arrows.

The player's agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed to Siya crew that the player had been hospitalised with pneumonia.

Van Heerden has now confirmed that he has returned home after spending 11 days in hospital.

@chiefs is useless, maybe it depends on the calibre of player, maybe other players' conditions are leaked to the media even against their will, maybe others voluntarily inform the media about their condition for the public to know. I am 110% certain that if it was Khune, we would have known his hospital ward long ago. Maybe it also depends on the clubs communication policies. But to be fair to Soccerladuma, Khoza is a man of secrets. I can almost guarantee he wouldn't be impressed had his player 's medical condition is in the public domain.

@setlaboswana Mark is a public figure, he was hospitalised for 11 days(not a house arrest),surely a competent publication would have easily picked up the story but no they were focused on khune and his imaginary girlfriend as always, I think it's high time i start looking at other publications as well, this Soccerladuma thing is serving interest of a particular club...propaganda reporting

@chiefs is useless, I think Khoza an Makaab decided to keep mum in order to give the player space. Illness is a sensitive issue, maybe they decided to snub the public to respect his privacy.
