Bucs coach Eric Tinkler will be without newly signed defender, Tshepo Gumede who will be serving a one match suspension for picking up three yellow cards, however the defender remains optimistic of his first start in Pirates colours.
“Look I have to serve a one match suspension so that automatically rules me out of contention for the AmaZulu match,” Gumede tells his club’s official website.
“But I also know that I have to continuously fight to impress the coach and earn my fellow team-mates’ respect. I am surrounded by talented players but that is part of the reason I came here; I’m up for the challenge. I am doing my best to improve as an individual, and as a part of the team,” he adds.
The Buccaneers will be looking to swiftly assent the PSL table and improve on their current fourth spot as they trail Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits if they are going to realise their objective of qualifying for the CAF Champions League.
Pirates currently trail second placed Sundowns and third placed Wits by five points respectively, however there are 39 points still to play for in the remaining fixtures.

Sundowns and Pirates have already played each other twice this season, however the Buccaneers still need to play Wits in a return leg scheduled for the 15th April at the Bidvest Stadium.
