Orlando Pirates defender, Patrick Phungwayo, says his rehabilitation is going well but he is not sure yet when he will be back for the Buccaneers.
Phungwayo is undergoing a rehabilitation programme as he recovers from the injury he suffered in the MTN8 Final loss to Platinum Stars back in September.
“The good thing is that I’m no longer using the cruches, so that’s the good sign that I’m recovering well from this injury, but it’s still too early to tell as to when I will start training,” Phungwayo told the Siya crew.
“I don’t want to rush myself back to training. I want to recover completely before I can go back to training, so for now it’s a matter of waiting for the team doctors to give me the green light to start training,” added the Pirates left back.
Meanwhile, Phungwayo wished his teammates well in their game against Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday night.
“The guys know what’s at stake, plus we’re playing at home, so it’s very important for us to win this game. So I just want to wish them the best of luck for that game against Celtic,” concluded Phungwayo.
Pirates will host Celtic in an Absa Premiership match at Orlando Stadium at 20h15.
