South African youngster Lebohang Phiri scored his second goal for Danish club Brondby last night, securing their place in Denmark’s top-flight.
The 18-year-old has come on leaps and bounds since leaving Wits for an 18-month loan with ‘Drengene Fra Vestegnen’, and has now scored two goals in two games as his rise continues.
Brondby went into their game with Horsens last night knowing that a defeat could see him relegated from the Danish Superliga, however Phiri popped up in the 93rd minute to score the goal that secured their status in Denmark’s top division, after some good work from Dennis Rommedahl.
The youngster is still in the early stages of his long-term loan deal with the Danish outfit, although it is looking ever more likely that they will look to table an offer for the midfield man after his success at the club.
It is believed that Phiri could now return to Mzansi with the Danish season complete, however will return to Brondby for pre-season training when the team meet up ahead of their 2013/2014 campaign.
