Bafana Bafana winger Thuso Phala claimed the Man of the Match award despite his side losing 1-0 to Norway at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday.
The Platinum Stars man constantly terrorised the Norway left-back and lashed in some superb crosses which the visitors had to scramble clear.
The player also had two clear chances to score in the game but saw his scuffed shot cleared en route to the goal before blazing another opportunity over.
Phala believes that they lacked a bit of luck on the night but urged the team to learn from their mistakes ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
"I'm very disappointed with the result. We created a lot of chances... I, myself, could have scored a couple of goals," he said.
"But the important thing is that we must learn from our mistakes and take it forward. We must just take the positives out if this and look forward to the tournament.
"We created a lot of chances, so come another day when luck is on our side we could score five or six goals. So I take that as a positive.
"Also, it's a learning curve for us that we can have the possession, but concede one goal and lose the game."
