SuperSport United winger, Thuso Phala, says that the mood within the Bafana camp is good, but that it’s a shame than Innocent Mdledle and Bennett Chenene aren’t with them.
Phala is one of five Matsatsantsa players to have received a call-up to the current squad, however Mdledle and Chene both pulled out with hamstring injuries, while Bevan Fransman is with his wife as they welcome their child into the world, and will only join the camp on Thursday.
That leaves just Phala and David Mathebula in camp with Gordon Igesund and his team for the game against Nigeria.
Speaking to SuperSport’s official website Phala said, “Mathebula and I joined the team on Sunday night. The mood is good in the camp and everybody is looking forward to the big game.
“It is just unfortunate some of our teammates Bennett Chenene and Innocent Mdledle missed our cup match on the weekend due to injuries and that automatically ruled them out of the national team match. I wish they recover swiftly as we still have a long way to go in the domestic league.”
Bafana take on Nigeria tomorrow night in Durban before taking on Burkina Faso this weekend at the FNB Stadium.
