SuperSport United winger, Thuso Phala, should be fit in time for the start of Matsatsantsa’s season, despite struggling with a hamstring injury.
The Siya crew explained earlier this month that the 27-year-old, who recently joined SuperSport from Platinum Stars, had been sitting out training with his new teammates due to the niggle, but that it was hoped that it wasn’t serious.
Now the crew have been informed that Phala, as well as veteran striker, Sibusiso Zuma, will only start training later this month, a week or so before the start of the season.
Phala is one of six new signings for Matsatsantsa, and with new head coach Cavin Johnson at the helm of the club, they will no doubt be aiming for silverware this season as they look to bring the glory days back to Tshwane.
SuperSport are currently undergoing their preseason camp in Stellenbosch where they recently announced a new kit sponsor, Engen, as well as a partnership with Stellenbosch University.
