SuperSport United’s new signing, Thuso Phala, looks on course to make the start of the PSL season after scoring past his old club, Platinum Stars, in a preseason friendly.
The 27-year-old has been nursing a hamstring injury for a while, since joining up with Matsatsantsa, although the Siya crew reported that he was likely to be fit in time for his club’s 2013/14 season campaign.

Now, with SuperSport’s first game against Free State Stars just around the corner, Phala is managing to get a bit of game time and fitness under his belt, scoring for his new club against Dikwena on Saturday.
Goals from Phala and Mame Niang were enough to see SuperSport come back from being 1-0 down against Stars, after Benson Mhlongo had opened the scoring.
It remains to be seen whether Phala will feature for Cavin Johnson’s side against Ea Lla Koto, although the Bafana Bafana winger is now well on the way to regaining his full fitness.
