Tau Targets LaLiga Amid Sundowns Exit Talk

Percy Tau is the talk of the town at present after scooping numerous gongs at the PSL Awards, especially after Pitso Mosimane discussed an exit, but he says he’s focused on his studies.
The 24-year-old was crowned as the Absa Premiership Footballer of the Season earlier this week after a stellar campaign for Mamelodi Sundowns, with Mosimane saying that they have already received interest from some of the top leagues in European football.
Speaking after the award ceremony in Sandton, the Bafana Bafana international admitted that he’s not really looking at his future at this point in time due to the fact that he is sitting for exams.
When questioned about his coach’s comments, he simply replied, “At the moment I don't know... I just want to focus on my exams, after my exams I can focus back on football.”
The talented attacker did, however, admit that he’d love to play in Spain’s LaLiga in his career, saying, “At some point, I believe that Spain would be nice. Real Madrid have won the Champions League three times in a row, and you don't find that, it's rare. It's always nice to challenge yourself and play in such a league.
“France would be a great step for me because it's outside of South Africa and I'd get to play against PSG. It would be interesting, my next step will be very interesting in my life if it happens. If it doesn't happen then it means I have to work on what I have.
“I don't know what's going to happen.”
Tau is likely to be the centre of attention in coming weeks, with Masandawana now facing the possibility of losing both him and Khama Billiat before next season.
