Why Tau Is Ready For Euro Switch…
Percy Tau has been linked with an exit from Mamelodi Sundowns, as Brighton & Hove Albion plot a move for his signature and his stats suggest that the 24-year-old is ready for a European move.
It remains to be seen at this point in time whether Tau will be able to get a permit to play in the English Premier League at this point in time - though it seems unlikely – but a move to Europe is definitely on the card as the Masandawana star plots the next step in his career.
Tau has directly contributed to forty goals in 65 Absa Premiership games since his debut in the top-flight (18 goals and 22 assists) and finished the 2017/18 season as the Absa Premiership’s joint top scorer alongside Rodney Ramagalela. He’s currently averaging a goal every 296 minutes in the league, and every 341 minutes in all competitions.
On top of that, the young Bafana Bafana international has already won almost everything there is to win in South Africa, lifting the Absa Premiership, Telkom Knockout and Nedbank, while also getting his hands on the CAF Champions League and Super Cup. Leaving South African shores now seems like a natural progression for him.
Tau has reportedly attracted interest from other clubs around Europe even though it is Brighton who now lead the race, and fans in Mzansi will be eager to see what the ‘Young Lion’ can do if he does step into another phase in his career.
