Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Elias Pelembe was delighted with their 5-2 win over Black Leopards on Tuesday night after he was named Man of the Match.
Pelembe bagged a brace on the night, with his second goal one of the best of the lot. The winger took the ball on the flank and dribbled past two defenders before he dinked the ball into the roof of the net from close range.
The player admits that they were expecting a tough game against Leopards, who are currently bottom of the table, and was happy to leave with the spoils.
"We knew that it was going to be a tough game. Especially because Black Leopards are fighting against relegation and we are also fighting for the top eight," he said.
"We did what the coach was asking and we are all happy. We got the three points."
Regarding his improved form recently, he continued, "I have been training hard and the coach has been giving me confidence. I can see game by game I am improving and I'm trying to help the team. I will always give my best."
His teammate Hlompho Kekana, who was also impressive in midfield and scored a cracking goal, was also pleased with the result.
"It really meant a lot. As you know, we have been struggling to get points and we have been looking for goals, and today it came," he said.
