New Orlando Pirates striker, Helder Pelembe, was amongst the new faces in the Bucs team that played Congo Brazzaville side AC Leopards in a friendly match earlier today.
Pelembe, who joined Pirates in December, came on as a substitute in a game that the Buccaneers won 1-0 through Aubrey Ngoma’s strike. They also beat Polokwane City 2-1(Erasmus and Klate) in their first game, but lost 4-1 to United FC with Ndumiso Mabena striking the solitary goal for Bucs.
Forgotten midfielders, Jacky Motshegwa and Maselaelo Seanego, as well as defenders Bheki Nzunga and Mbongeni Gumede were also given a run in the game against Leopards.
Fatau Dauda also started in goals for Pirates against Leopards, thereby getting some much needed game time as the 2014 World Cup nears.
Dauda, who is Ghana’s number one goalkeeper, has hardly gotten any game time this season at Pirates, with Senzo Meyiwa being preferred as Bucs’ number one.
Meanwhile, Pirates trialist, Ntsikelelo Nyauza, was also given a run against Leopards.
