The confident Mamelodi Sundowns square off against a very much spirited Mpumalanga Black Aces tomorrow evening in the Absa Premiership, and Sundowns midfielder, Elias Pelembe, believes it could be one of their toughest tests thus far.
“First of all we go to the match on the back of a cup loss. Secondly, Aces have proven to be a stumbling block, especially for the big three which means we can’t afford to be casual. Yes we have to tread with caution but we don’t have to be overcautious because that might take us out of our game plan”, he told the club's official website.
He further outlined the importance of forgetting the loss to Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals and also spoke about focusing all their energy now in the Absa Premiership.
“We have to continue with what we have been doing in the league thus far and not be discouraged by the loss against Orlando Pirates. Things didn’t go our way in that match and as we know, that’s part of football”
“This match for us will be like a cup final. In fact all the remaining matches for Sundowns deserve that status as we anticipate a good atmosphere from our supporters. We also want to get back to winning ways and direct our energy exclusively on the league race”, he said.
The match will commence at 19:30 from the Loftus Stadium.
