Former Downs Player Signs For Highlands
Former Mamelodi Sundowns player, Patrick Meso, has penned a one-year deal with newly promoted National First Division side, Highlands Park.
The 28-year-old right back was previously linked with a move to Turkey, having been taken over by former Kaizer Chiefs star, Nkosinathi Nhleko, however the move did not materialise.
It has now been confirmed that he will be playing in South Africa’s second tier this season. As a development product of the Sundowns youth system, he was promoted by coach Johan Neeskens, although never played in an official game for the Brazilians.
“I am glad that I can play football again. I could have played in Turkey, but things didn’t work out there. It was in the lower division and they wanted someone younger at that time.
“I want to restart my career here at Highlands Park and see where I go from here. I thank my manager Mr Nhleko for giving me a second chance to do what I love and that’s playing football,” the defender explained.
