Chiefs Update On Future Signings
Patrick Mabedi Has Discussed Kaizer Chiefs' Transfer Situation
Kaizer Chiefs aren’t expected to do much more in the transfer market before the transfer deadline slams shut next month, but Patrick Mabedi has revealed one position they want to add to.
The Amakhosi have already completed the signing of Khama Billiat, Letlhogonolo Mirwa and Virgil Vries – with Andriamirado ‘Dux’ Andrianarimanana also on the way if his situation gets sorted out – and it appears that they’re relatively happy with their squad.
With Giovanni Solinas still awaiting his South African work permit, it was Patrick Mabedi on the bench as Chiefs lost the Shell Helix Ultra Cup 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns, and he gave a little bit of insight into their transfer situation after the game.
According to the club’s official website, Mabedi said, “I think, for now, we have one position that we are looking at… Left-back needs some attention, but we want to give credit to our players – they really played well bar the two mistakes that led to conceding the two goals. I’m happy, otherwise, with the overall picture and the outlook going forward.”
Meanwhile, with regards to Solinas’ current situation, he added, “Coach Giovanni Solinas has arrived and is currently observing and getting used to the setup. We will go back to the training grounds to continue with the preparations.”
