Mabedi Explains Amakhosi’s Target…

Patrick Mabedi Has A Target For Kaizer Chiefs

By Soccer Laduma - Apr 28, 2018 11:32 AM
Patrick Mabedi wants Kaizer Chiefs to move on from the defeat to Golden Arrows by getting a result against their CAF Confederation Cup rivals this afternoon.

Chiefs take on Maritzburg at FNB Stadium this weekend as they look to bounce back from the 3-1 loss, but will have to do so without Leonardo Castro following his red card on Tuesday night.

With two games left to play, Chiefs need to make their game with the Team of Choice count as both club battle it out for a spot in the CCC next season, and Mabedi says that they have a target of finishing as high as physically possible (third).

Speaking to the club’s official website, he said, “We have to go back home to prepare for the Maritzburg United match. We are still chasing the target of finishing as high possible.”

On the topic of that defeat to Arrows, Chiefs first back-to-back defeat since last May, the Chiefs legend blamed a lot of it on Castro’s dismissal.

He said, “We started slow and conceded an early goal. The red card also changed the game and, as a result, we had to adapt our plans.

“After the red card, we lost our composure. Despite a man down, we did create some chances but just couldn’t put the ball into the back of the net. We have to accept what happened and move on to find solutions before the next match.”

The game with Fadlu Davids’ side is due to get underway at 15h00 this afternoon.

Tjeeerrr people talk as if chiefs is fighting relegation... Evn my best rats friend is having a field day at us as if they have something to show except that lousy CAF spot. Well to be honest, a strong rats is as trophyless as weak chiefs. That's fact.

@Dangerous when provoked : I concur with you my Zebra because even if Zebras accidentally beat Maritzburg to secure a CCC spot they won't get that far in the competition. We all know they have that bad habit of being eliminated early from CAF

Forget about all that. Just let new guys go there and enjoy themselves. Just make sure the team is in top 8 that's all. The new coach will come and rebuild the team, for the next season.
