Sporting Lokeren and Bafana Bafana midfielder, Ayanda Patosi, believes that former Orlando Pirates midfielder, Andile Jali, has the qualities to succeed in Europe.
The Khayelitsha-born player, who could have the opportunity to come up against Jali in the Belgian Pro League in the near future, told the Siya crew that Jali has proven that he is ready for top leagues in Europe.
Jali recently signed for KV Oostende in the Belgian Pro League, after completing a move from Pirates.
“He will do well and I’m sure that he has the qualities to make it at the top teams in Europe. He showed everyone that he is capable of playing in Europe when he played (for Bafana) in the game against Spain. He will progress as a player too and who knows, he might go to a top team in Europe in the future. I am happy for him,” said Patosi.
Patosi’s Lokeren play against Jali’s Ostende in the Belgian cup game tonight although the former Pirates man is still unavailable for the game, while Patosi is expected to start on the bench for Peter Maes’ side.
The two players could get a chance to face each other in the second leg of the competition on February 5.
Other South African stars in Belgium include Anele Ngcongca and Darren Keet at Racing Genk and KV Kortrijk respectively.
