South African youngster, Ayanda Patosi, says that he is hoping that the new season can be even better than his last, as he looks to recover from injury.
The 20-year-old shot to prominence in his last campaign, scoring seven goals for his side, Sporting Lokeren, before suffering an unfortunate knee injury that put him out of action for the rest of the season.
Patosi’s fine form attracted attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with the likes of Ajax Amsterdam and Chelsea both having sent scouts to watch the talented midfielder.
Now, with his knee almost recovered, the starlet has told the Siya crew that he can’t wait to get back playing again.
Patosi said, “I’ll be starting preseason training with the rest of my team in two weeks time. I’m so happy that all of this is done now, it’s not easy being injured.
“I’m going to be joining preseason with the others, but I won’t be going 100 percent straight away, I’ll wait until I get into my flow properly.”
When asked whether he could improve even further on last season, Patosi said, “Yes, this season is important for me. As you know there were many teams from top leagues interested last season. I’m working hard and I really want to achieve my goals.”
The Africa Soccer Developments graduate looks destined for great things, should he properly recover from his injury, and will no doubt be in Gordon Igesund’s plans for the future of Bafana Bafana.
