South African midfielder Ayanda Patosi is enjoying his off-season break at home, in Cape Town, with his family and friends.
Patosi, who had an impressive season with Lokeren in the Belgian Pro League, finished the 2012/13 campaign on the sidelines due to injury.
He had scored seven goals for Lokeren when he picked up a knee injury. He was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the season. The 20-year-old had caught the attention of the senior national team coach, Gordon Igesund, before the injury.
The Siya crew spotted the talented player at the Philippi Stadium in the Mother City, during the 0-0 draw between Chippa United and Santos -read full match report here- in the first game of this year’s PSL Promotion/Relegation Play-offs.
Speaking to to Soccer-Laduma at the game, the Khayelitsha-born player explained that he has made significant progress in his recovery.
The young talent said that he attended the play-off in support of his friend, Mkhanyiseli Siwahla, and his teammates from the Chilli Boys.
