The Amakhosi frontman put on a fine performance as Chiefs won 4-1 over City, grabbing two goals, two assists and the Man of the Match award for the game.
Before the game Parker was sitting behind Siyabonga Nomvethe, Edward Manqele (both Moroka Swallows) and Cuthbert Malajila (Mamelodi Sundowns) who all had five goals, however last night’s brace has seen him climb above them with six for the season.
The 27-year-old has been in top form so far this season, with last night’s goals being his 10th and 11th for club and country since the start of this PSL season.
Parker managed to find the back of the net 12 times in the Absa Premiership in Chiefs’ last campaign as they won the title, missing out on the Golden Boot by one goal to Katlego Mashego.
However, having scored six goals in 10 games so far, he will certainly be hoping to beat that tally this season.
Chiefs’ win over City took them up to third place in the league, just two points behind leaders, Sundowns, although the Brazilians do still have a game in hand.
Parker will be looking to continue add to his total when the Glamour Boys take on Free State Stars in their next game, with the two sides locking horns at Charles Mopeli Stadium on Saturday.
