Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker had a relatively quiet season when he initially joined Amakhosi from FC Twente of Holland ahead of the 2011/12 campaign.
Parker: It's Great To Be Here
However this season, he has lit up the PSL with his goal-scoring prowess and it is not a surprise that he is in the Bafana Bafana squad for the Afcon 2013 that is currently in camp.
Parker, who has played in both the Confederation Cup and the World Cup, tells Soccer-Laduma that it is great to be in the team for the African Cup of Nations.
The former Thanda Royal Zulu striker said it is always great to represent his country in such a big tournament.
"I have to tell you that there is nothing that beats playing for your country. We all want to be there and I think I picked up my form at the right time. I was worried last season about my form, so this season I had to make up for that and it was at the right time.
"I thank my coaches and teammates at Kaizer Chiefs because they have helped me to rediscover my form and to be back in the national team. It is great to be in the team to play in the Afcon at home. We want to repeat what the 1996 team did when they played at home by winning the trophy," Parker expressed.
