National First Division outfit Santos have appointed Ian Palmer to take over the coaching reigns at the side.
The People’s Team have been without a head coach since parting ways with Mart Nooij in December, following a poor start to the 2012/13 campaign under the Dutch mentor.
Palmer’s appointment at the Cape-based side was confirmed to the Siya crew by the club’s chairman, Goolam Allie.
“I can confirm it and we are going to put it on our website as well. Ian Palmer is the new coach, yes. He is joining us starting from today (Monday),” confirmed Allie.
The chairman, however, would not reveal the finer details of the deal. He added, “It’s (the contract) not just up to the end of the season but we’ve got confidentiality to it.”
Palmer recently parted ways with Black Leopards after only two months in charge of the Limpopo-based outfit, and will now look to help Santos regain their place in the PSL.
