News reaching the Siya crew is that Chippa United have parted ways with Ian Palmer, following the team’s 1-1 draw with Vasco da Gama this past weekend, and Vladislav Heric looks set to come in to replace him.
The Chilli Boys were hoping to maintain their position at the summit of the NFD standings going into Saturday’s game, but were held into a 1-1 draw by their neighbours at the Philippi Stadium.
The management of Chippa had a meeting soon after the game, and it is believed that the Cape side felt that a change in the technical team is necessary, although the side sit second on the table, just one point behind leaders Milano United.
Former Black Leopards coach, Heric, is set to be given the nod as the club’s new coach according to Siya sources. Heric was amongst the spectators when the side played against Vasco on the weekend.
Chippa's general manager, Wanda Mbenguzana, told the Siya crew that the management is still in discussions about the future plans.
"We are still in a meeting and nothing has been finalised. But you will know about it before the end of the day," said Mbenguzana.
The Siya crew spotted Heric seated not very far from the club’s Chief Operations Officer, Peter Koutroulis, and some of the team’s members, including Mkhanyiseli Siwahla during the game against Vasco.
