Santos coach, Ian Palmer, admits his side’s biggest problem during the Promotion/Relegation matches has been their poor performance in front of goal.
Palmer bemoaned his side’s poor finishing after they went down 1-0 to Chippa United on Sunday afternoon and thus ending their hopes of playing in the Absa Premiership next season.
“We had problems scoring against Aces and we had the same problem again today. That has been our biggest problem and our campaign comes to an end now,” said Palmer.
Still, despite his side’s inability to score he did commend his charges for a long season.
“I think the boys did well. I think we threw it away in the first half,” added Palmer.
“But I must give praise to the boys. No one gave them a chance and we ended up losing the league by two goals.
“The amount of work the boys have put in and the character they have shown has been unbelievable.
“We must continue to encourage the boys and look ahead to the new season.”
