News reaching the Siya crew is that Santos welcomed Ghanaian international, John Paintsil, to their training today (Tuesday).
The 32-year-old has played for a number of top clubs during his career, including West Ham United and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Paintsil has 80 caps for the national team of Ghana. Santos coach, David Notoane, confirmed to the Siya crew that the player is training with the side.
“We do have him here. He is training with us. He started today (Tuesday). We’ll look at what his condition is, his fitness and things like that.
"With his experience, we are looking forward to keeping him in the team. It’s good for the team to have a player of his quality and experience to guide the younger players.
"That’s why I told the chairman (Goolam Allie) when he approached me that I would be happy to keep the player here,” said Notoane.
Paintsil can play either in defence or in midfield.
