Despite speculation that Paintsil has already signed a deal with the Cape side, the club told the Siya crew that the player is training with the team for now.
“I can confirm that the player is still training with us at this stage,” Santos chairman Goolam Allie told the Siya crew.
Santos coach, David Notoane and the management of the club are attempting to bring the side back to the PSL.
The People’s Team currently occupies seventh position on the NFD log with six points after four games. Paintsil has played for a number of clubs during his career, including Fulham, West Ham United and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The 32-year-old has more than 80 caps for the national team of Ghana. He can play either in defence or in midfield.
