The 27-year-old midfield man had to be carried off during the 0-0 draw with Polokwane City on Tuesday evening and while it was reported that the injury was not serious, the severity of it was confirmed this morning.
Pirates doctors confirmed that x-rays had shown that ‘Ace’ had fractured his distal fibula, an injury that will require surgery in order to correct.
If given the proper amount of time to recover, Manyisa is likely to be sidelined for around six to 10 weeks and will then take time to get himself back to match fitness after such a long lay-off.
With that in mind and with just three months left before the mid-season break, there is a chance that Manyisa may not play again in 2015, which would see the player miss at least eight games for the Buccaneers.
No player in South Africa has played more games of football that Manyisa over the last few seasons and it appears that his lack of rest has finally caught up with him.
