The promotion of Orlando Pirates youngster, Siphumelele Mbulu, has been welcomed, with the young star being compared to legends of the international game.
Pirates confirmed that they promoted Mbulu to their first team on Wednesday, with Bucs head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic, stating that the 19-year old impressed with his performances and hard work in the development structures.
The KZN-born player has been described as a no-nonsense midfielder who can also play at left back.
In congratulating Mbulu, the player’s coach at South African U-20 level, Thabo Senong, has likened him to former French midfielder Emmanuel Petit, as well as former Dutch midfielder, Edgar Davids.
“Congratulations to Mbulu for promotion@ O. Pirates f.c , hardtackling left footed midfielder like Emmanuel Petit and Edgar Davids. We are proud of you @ Amajita,” Senong tweeted.
Mbulu and his Bucs teammates are preparing for the team’s next match, an Absa Premiership tie against Chippa United scheduled for February 25.
