Bucs Youngster On Transition From Junior To Senior Team
Orlando Pirates Youngster Adjusting To Senior Team Setup
Orlando Pirates’ Siphumelele Mbulu is enjoying the transition from the junior team at the Soweto giants to graduating to the senior team.
Like Lyle Foster, who has been making a name for himself with Milutin Sredojevic’s team in the PSL since his promotion last year, Mbulu will be working on getting his chance under the Serbian coach and his technical team.
The 19-year-old says he has been getting advice from senior players at the Buccaneers.
“Happy Jele was one of the first players to give me advice when I arrived and he still talks me through various aspects of my game. He plays behind me as a centre back so he’s constantly in my ear. Even when I make mistakes, he doesn’t shout at me. He pulls me aside during the game or training or water break to give me tips,” Mbulu told Bucs’ official website.
“Marshall Munetsi also plays a big role because we are both young and play in the defensive midfield together. He motivates me because he is playing in big games and doing well. We’ve become good friends and he is my housemate. We talk about the game a lot and I think I watch him and Issa Sarr more than any other players. Munetsi is a good guy and he understands what is happening with me. He was in the same situation not too long ago,” the young star added.
The Buccaneers are preparing for an away trip to Port Elizabeth for Sunday’s Absa Premiership match against Chippa United.
