Bucs Aim To Bounce Back From Nedbank Defeat
Orlando Pirates want to bounce back after Nedbank Cup defeat to Cape Town City
Orlando Pirates are hoping to get their league campaign back on track after they were dumped out of the Nedbank Cup in midweek by Cape Town City.
The Buccaneers are away to Golden Arrows on Saturday evening and will look to fully capitalise on putting pressure on Mamelodi Sundowns who don’t play until 4 April 2018 due to Champions League commitments.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Bucs Administrative Officer said the team has put Wednesday night behind them and are focused on the task of getting the full three points when they take on Abafana Besthende.
“Wednesday is behind. The challenge now lies ahead of us starting with the game against Arrows,” Mbele told the Siya Crew.
“We will have to put the defeat past us and focus on getting back to winning ways. Our players are professional enough to carry on and do the job at hand. We are also fully aware that we will play two leagues before Sundowns play their fixture, but we are not banking on that or even seeing that situation as an opportunity.
“What’s important for us is that we continue winning games. We need to control what we can control,” added Mbele.
Should the Soweto Giants win their two league games they could find themselves with 45 points having played two more games than Sundowns who will play Chippa United on the same day that the Buccaneers take on Bloemfontein Celtic.
